Media Studies Students Participated in the Workshop on ‘Open Intelligence in Journalism’

The students of the Department of Media Studies attended the workshop on ‘Open Intelligence in Journalism’ organized by The Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) in Collaboration with the International Centre for Journalists (ICFJ). The Workshop was held on the 13th of June 2024 (Friday) at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo.

The Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) is a non-profit media organization established with the aim of promoting and sustaining a free and independent press in Sri Lanka collaborates with the International Centre for Journalists (ICFJ) and organized the above workshop in four sessions and the students have gained knowledge about online platforms and applications, Geolocation methodology and practices.

The workshop is relevant to the course units ‘Contemporary Media Technology’ (CMCH 22043) and ‘Media, Democracy, Law and Ethics’ (CMCH 21033) of the Curriculum of the B.A. (Honours) in Media Studies.
