Department of Media Studies published students’ magazines from the inception of the programme in order to make the students familiar with the professional exposure in reporting and editing relevant to print journalism. In the year 2013, the first students’ magazine was published under the name of ‘Palkalaian’ and followed by ‘Adaiyalam’ and ‘Pathivu’ in 2014, ‘Maiththural’ and ‘Visaichirakugal’ in 2015, again ‘Palkalaian’ in 2016 and ‘Neyam’ in 2017. On par with the above, the series of ‘Kanali’ magazines produced by the second-year students of Media Studies as an outcome of the course units ‘Reporting Techniques and Skills’ and ‘Editing Concepts and Processes’.
