Students of Department of Media Studies Participated in the Awareness Workshop Organized under the theme ‘இதயபூர்வமான யாழ்ப்பாணத்துக்கு’ (‘To Jaffna with Love – Clean Voyage of Unity’)

In order to promote the concept of ‘Clean Sri Lanka’, the project is being implemented in Jaffna under the theme ‘இதயபூர்வமான யாழ்ப்பாணத்துக்கு’ (To Jaffna with Love – Clean Voyage of Unity) in Jaffna District from 13th to 20th August 2025.

As part of this project, an awareness workshop for Journalists from Jaffna District and Students of Media Studies of the University of Jaffna was held on 14th of August 2025 (Thursday) at the auditorium of the Northern Provincial Council Secretariat in Kaithady.

The Northern Provincial Mrs. Thanuja Murugesan, Chief Secretary-NPC, Mr.S.Piranavanathan, Deputy Chief Secretary Personnel & Training-NPC, and Mrs. Annet Ninthusha Antony Dinesh, Assistant Chief Secretary-NPC were participated in the Seminar as resource persons. The Chief Secretary explained the purpose of the Clean Sri Lanka project. Following this, the workshop was conducted by the Senior Assistant Secretary to the President, Mrs. Sarathanjali Manoharan.

Mr. Nishantha Alwis – Assistant Director (Media) of the Presidential Secretariat’s Clean Sri Lanka Project, and  K. Dileep Amuthan, Media Secretary to the Governor of the Northern Province, were present in the workshop.

The Level II students of the Department of Media Studies benefited from the awareness workshop.
