Mr.Walter Iruthayarajan Dilaxan, a student from the Department of Media Studies at the University of Jaffna, was awarded three Gold Medals at the 40th General Convocation of the University of Jaffna, held on the 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd of February 2026 at the Indoor Stadium of the University of Jaffna.
The following awards recognized his outstanding academic performance and excellence in the field of Media Studies and overall performance at the Faculty Level.
1. ‘Sahathevan Nilakshan’ Memorial Gold Medal for Media Studies for being the Best Student in Media Studies in the Honours Degree Examination in the Academic Year 2022
2. ‘Aasukavi Kallady Veluppillai’ Memorial Gold Medal for the Best Performance in Print Media in Media Studies in the Honours Degree Examination in the Academic Year 2022
3. ‘Ananthi Sooriyapragasam’ Memorial Gold Medal for the Best Performance in Ethical Journalism in the Honours Degree Examination in the Academic Year 2022
