The Department of Media Studies ceremonially opened by Professor. K. Kanthasamy, Competent Authority, University of Jaffna on 10th of June, 2019.

The function presided by Dr.S.Raguram, Coordinator – Media Studies and the Dean, Faculty of Arts Dr.K.Suthakar grace the occasion as the special guest.

The Deans of the Faculties, Former Vice Chancellor Professor. P. Balasundarampillai, Former Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor. N. Gnanakumaran, Professors, Lecturers, Heads of the Departments, Administrative Staffs, Former Coordinators of Media Studies, Visiting Lecturers, Alumni, Journalists and Students were participated in the landmark event of the history of Media Studies.
