Dr. M C Rasmin, Media Researcher and Consultant on Community Radio (CR) Projects and Studies shared his exposure to the Media Studies students on ‘Community Radio and Web Radio’ at the Sharing Session via online on 13th of June 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

He shared the history of the early efforts on the establishment of community radio in Sri Lanka and other countries in the South Asian region and had a lengthy discussion on the challenges faced on the survival of the community radio system at the local level.

He has conducted an interesting quiz session among the students and made them aware of the features and prospects of the community radio.

Further, he advised the students on using web radio to be the platform to the common people and describe the strategies to develop the idea of having a web radio at the Department of Media Studies through the ‘Integrated Newsroom’ project.
