Documentary Films Students are produced by students of the Department of Media Studies to satisfy the partial fulfillment of the course unit ‘Digital Storytelling: Documentary Filmmaking (32023)’ in their Level III Semester II.
On par with the above, the Documentary Film ‘கசிவு’ (Kasivu) made by Ms. Dharshini Radhakirushnan based on the topic of painful days of the women of Upcountry during their menstruation period.
The Documentary Film ‘கசிவு’ (Kasivu)’ was screened at the event Introducing the Book ‘மலையகா’ (Malayaha) held in Zurich, Switzerland on the 30th of June 2024 and commended by the writers and intellectuals who were present in that event.
As an outcome of the above screening, the organizers decided to launch a programme to provide sanitary napkins to the women estate workers and the students of the Upcountry shortly.
Further, Ms.Dharshini Radhakirushnan was invited to Nethra TV, the Tamil Channel of State Rupavahini Corporation for an Interview on the 14th of June 2024 to talk about her Documentary Film.
In addition to that, an Interview article also was published in the ‘Tamil Murasu’ Newspaper published from Colombo in its 21st of July 2024 issue.
