Parallel to the launch of ‘Integrated Newsroom’ at the Media Lab of the Department of Media Studies, Media Students of the University of Jaffna launched their media products through the exhibition at the Lobby of the Faculty of Arts building and created dialogue on the themes such as freedom of expression, digital citizenship, gender and right to information on the 6th of December 2022.
The event was ceremonially opend by HELVETAS Project Manager for the InSPIRE project – Ms. Chandula Kumbukage; Head of the Department of Media Studies – Prof. S. Raguram and the Programme Director of SDJF – Mr. Mohammed Azad.
A number of documentary films were screened and appreciated by viewers from different study streams of the Faculty of Arts. The exhibition commenced at 9.00 a.m. and ended at 1.00 p.m.
The activity is implemented as part of Incubator spaces for Promoting Information Rights and Freedom of Expression (InSPIRE) implemented by SDJF and Helvetas funded by the European Union.
