Exploring the Field Research Methods in Folklore: A Special Lecture Conducted by Professor O.Muthaiya

Folklore is an essential part of human culture, reflecting traditions, customs, and the collective knowledge of societies. In an effort to deepen the understanding and study of folklore, the Media Club, the Students’ Society of the Department of Media Studies organized a special lecture on the 14th of March 2025 (Friday) at the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Arts.

Professor O. Muthaiya, a renowned scholar in the field of folklore and Dean of the School of Tamil, Indian Languages and Rural Arts, Gandhigram Rural Institute, Gandhigram, India delivered a special lecture on ‘Exploring the Field Research Methods in Folklore’.

The event was presided over by Ms.S.Poongulaly, Head, Department of Media Studies. Prof.S.Raguram, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Staff and Students of the Faculty of Arts participated in the event.
