As facilitation to the university activities, the Department of Media Studies covered and audio-visual documented the event of the opening ceremony of Dr. Indrapala Archaeological Museum at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Jaffna held on the 24th May 2023.
The Head of the History Department Mrs. Shanthini Arulanantham delivered the welcome speech. Following the Head’s speech, Retired Professor P. Pushparatnam gave an introductory note, highlighting the significance of the museum and its importance to Tamil society. This was followed by Professor S. Raguram delivering the Dean’s speech, expressing the faculty’s pride in the establishment of the museum. Prof.S.Srisatkunarajah, the Vice-chancellor of the University then delivered a keynote speech, emphasizing the importance of preserving and studying archaeological artefacts for the advancement of knowledge.
