Media Studies Students participated in the Photojournalism Workshop organized by the Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) collaborating with the International Centre for Journalists (ICFJ) for Undergraduates in Journalism held on the 14th of September 2023 (Thursday) at the Hilton Colombo.

The applications were called from university students from around the country. The following students from the Department of Media Studies participated on behalf of the University of Jaffna.

The hands-on training was conducted by the two-time Pulitzer award-winning photographer, Essdraz Suarez whom SLPI and ICFJ brought down to Sri Lanka on a training series for photojournalists and students.

Further, this workshop granted an opportunity for the undergraduates to enhance their knowledge and improve their skills in engaging in media responsibly and in creative ways related to their course unit ‘Photo Journalism’ (CMCH 22013).
