“I create film and multimedia that tell stories, which range from refugee issues for United Nations agencies to exploring folk tales in portraits for fashion and beauty magazines. My background is journalism, and I was the West Africa Reporter for Al Jazeera. After leaving journalism, I worked for the United Nations in communications in Kenya, before focusing on creating films and multimedia. My Polaroid photographs are creative rather than documentary images, and I like to explore the borders of fiction, memory, and imagination.” – Gabrielle Menezes
