On the invitation of the Department of Media Studies, Dr. S. Karmegam, Assistant Professor, Department of Folklore, St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Palayamkottai, Tamil Nadu, India participated in the ‘Sharing Session’ on ‘Importance of the Fieldwork in the Folklore Studies’.

The session conducted on 1st of August 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the Mini Board of the Faculty of Arts, University of Jaffna.

The students of the second year of Media Studies who are following ‘Folk Media’ as one of the course units were involved in the discussion and gathered exposure on folklore studies from the topics relevant to folk communication, indigenous knowledge, collection of data through the fieldwork and ethics in folklore research.
