The screening event of Short Films which are produced by the Media Studies students was held on the 11th of October 2024 at the Kailasapathy Auditorium, University of Jaffna as a part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the University of Jaffna.

The short films were produced in a systematic way as an outcome of the course unit ‘Digital Storytelling: Short Filmmaking’ at Level IV of the Honors Degree programme in Media Studies. The shortlisted 10 best short films which talked about various stories among the societies were screened.The Short Film Festival-2024 was inaugurated by Prof. S.Raguram, Dean, Faculty of Arts with the introduction note and felicitation addressed given by the Prof.S.Srisatkunarajah Vice-Chancellor, University of Jaffna. Ms.S.Poongulaly, Head, Department of Media Studies delivered the vote of thanks.

Staff, Students of the Faculty of Arts and a notable number of audiences from the community including journalists also participated in the event.
