Ms.Kupenthiran Lokitha, a Student of Media Studies awarded a scholarship including financial assistance in the remembrance of the ‘Late. Ashwin, Cartoonist’ by the Jaffna Press Club on 29th of September 2024 at Jaffna Press Club.

The event of awarding scholarship was held at the Jaffna Press Club followed by the memorial event of ‘Late Journalist, Cartoonist Ashwin’ and the tribute event of ‘National Hero Viraj Mendis’. Prof.S.Raguram, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Ms.S.Poongulaly, Head, Department of Media Studies and the Staff & Students of the Department of Media Studies attended the event.

The scholarship is awarded annually to the selected student from Level II who satisfies the following requirements.

• Merit pass in Level I in B.A. Degree programme
• Student who followed B.A. (Honours) in Media Studies
• Nominated as economically need assistance by the Department

It’s noted that the above scholarship to the students of Media studies is given this time for 3rd consecutive year.
