As per the curriculum, the students of Media Studies have the subject ‘Contemporary Media Technology’ (CMCH 22043) in their Level II semester II. The course unit provides an avenue for the students to measure the digital influence on media, discuss the pros and cons of social media networks and, create innovative ways to utilize the new media constructively and originate a social media network with alternate ideas.
In addition to the lectures and tutorials, a training session is needed for the students to expose their ideas practically. According to that the training session on ‘Mobile Journalism’ (MoJo) has been arranged on the 08th, 09th and 10th of April 2023 at the Media Lab of Media Studies.
Mr. Mohammed Aswer, Mobile Journalism Trainer conducted the workshop containing practical sessions on the usage of the smartphone to shoot documentaries and short films, and the application of learned skills.
In addition to the undergraduates of Media Studies, Students of Higher Diploma in Media Studies (Part-time) also participated in the above training session relevant to the Course Unit, ‘New Media and Media Convergence’ (AHDMS 1112).
