Department of Media Studies conducted a field exposure to its second and third year students to familiarize with ‘Using Drone’ for Photography and Videography as part of their learning on 23rd of September 2020 at the Sports Ground of the University.

The demonstration and the practical on the technical and operational sides of using Drones were facilitated by Mr. K. Kamalathasan (Visual Effects (VFX) Supervisor and Cinematographer) and Mr. Pa Hamzath Vanan (VFX Supervisor and Editor) from Raymax Institute of Visual Arts, Jaffna.

The students were excited and enjoyed the learning of using Drone and gathered the techniques of using Drones in ‘Investigative Journalism’ and acquired the fundamentals of ‘Drone Journalism’, the specialized area emerging.
