A Student of Department of Media Studies, Mr.Subramaniyam Sujendram (Badulla District), awarded scholarship and received a Laptop in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the assassinated Senior Journalist Aiyathurai Nadesan.

Aiyathurai Nadesan, a prominent and veteran Tamil Journalist was shot dead on 31 May 2004 on his way to work in Batticaloa. 

The event of awarding scholarship was held on 12th of June 2024 in the Faculty of Arts, University of Jaffna. On behalf of Nadesan Foundation Mr. Sugash Kanagaratnam, Attorney-at-Law awarded the scholarship to the Student. Prof.S.Raguram, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Ms.S.Poongulaly, Head, Department of Media Studies and Students of Media Studies were participated at the event.
